Haunted Mansion Reopens at Disneyland After Six-Month Hiatus

Get ready for a frightfully festive season, Disney fans! Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion Holiday is making its highly anticipated return on July 29, just in time to kick off the Halloween and holiday festivities. The announcement was made on Disney Parks’ Instagram, and fans are eagerly awaiting the reopening of this beloved attraction.

The Haunted Mansion closed its doors on January 22, 2024, to undergo some exciting renovations as part of the New Orleans Square updates. The park is expanding the attraction’s outdoor queue to improve the guest experience. This new area will feature charming gardens with fountains and statues of the mansion’s iconic characters. Additionally, the refurbishment includes a new gift shop inspired by Madame Leota’s carriage house, adding even more magic to your visit.

In keeping with tradition, the Haunted Mansion will be adorned with delightful decor inspired by Tim Burton’s classic film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack Skellington, Sally, and other beloved characters will make their appearance, bringing “frightfully festive touches” to the mansion. This year’s holiday overlay also promises a new highlight: a gingerbread house in the ballroom scene with a fresh design that’s sure to enchant.

While the Haunted Mansion Holiday will open on July 29, it’s important to note that some renovation work is still ongoing. The new store and expanded outdoor queue won’t be available on opening day, but these enhancements are expected to be completed soon.

How to Experience the Haunted Mansion Holiday

To access the Haunted Mansion Holiday, guests will need to use the virtual queue system via the Disneyland app starting July 29. You can request entry on the same day your ticket is valid. There will be two opportunities each day to join the virtual queue: once at 7 a.m. for those with a park reservation or Park Hopper ticket, and again at noon for those already inside Disney California Adventure Park or Disneyland Park. Please note that a standby queue will not be available at this time.

Guests are advised to check the app for availability before their visit or before 7 a.m. on the day of their visit. Only one person in your group needs to make the virtual queue request as long as their Disney account is linked to the group’s park tickets.

Mark your calendars for July 29 and prepare for a spellbinding return of the Haunted Mansion Holiday. With new surprises and classic holiday charm, it’s set to be a spooktacular experience!
